| Although the man is smiling and has bright eyes, the message written across his helmet reveals the true nature of his heart. The fact that the photo is in black and white adds to the idea that war drains you; it absorbs your colors and replaces them with dull grays and browns. Overall I like the genuine emotion in the picture because it's just that- real. |

This picture is haunting in a way. Really cool stuff. The way his eyes speak to the rest of his face is near surreal. Love it!
ReplyDeleteThis picture just makes me think of the terrors of war and how much the effect people and the environment around them. He smile, but his eyes show his true feeling. especially the note written on his head.
ReplyDeleteWow this picture shows so much emotion and has such a strong message. I think it speaks lengths on the emotions we bury inside and persistence.
ReplyDeleteI like the contrast between the facial expression of the soldier and what he is actually feeling. The grey reminds me of how the soldiers are physically and emotionally drained, just like the color is drained out of this photo. Nice Find.
